Life can challenge us with unexpected events and transitions. This is what happened when Rebecca Jacobs and her husband divorced. Among myriad changes in all areas of her life, Jacobs now needed support for her healthcare.
"Being on my husband's insurance wasn't going to be an option anymore," said Jacobs
"I'm a realtor, so I asked other realtors what they used for their healthcare. They recommended healthcare sharing ministries, so I checked out two or three. After my research I ended up choosing to become a member of Liberty HealthShare."
Because Liberty HealthShare is a faith-based sharing community, maintaining a Christian lifestyle and making responsible health choices are required to become a member.
"When I looked at the member requirements, they connected with me. You had to be a person of faith, and I am," Jacobs said.
Liberty HealthShare offers affordable programs and reasonable monthly share amounts, and many self-employed individuals find that membership is a good fit for their budgets.
"The price was great. And I read through the reviews, and they were positive," recalled Jacobs
Check out what our members have to say about their Liberty HealthShare experience.
Liberty HealthShare members share eligible preventative care, which is important to many people when considering their healthcare needs.
"I go to the doctor for my normal exams, like my mammogram and Pap smears. Everything important to me gets shared, and then I'm able to handle the rest out of pocket," Jacobs said. "It's been a really good option for me."
Healthsharing can even be less complicated than other healthcare options. Liberty HealthShare members can see any provider of their choice, and they aren't tied to a network or held back by the "red tape" of referrals.
"I still see my regular doctors for my healthcare. I haven't had to change anything, and there's never been a problem when I seek care," she said.
Some people who are unfamiliar with healthsharing believe the sharing process is complicated. Members contribute a monthly share and visit the provider of their choice. Other Liberty HealthShare members share eligible medical expenses. It's straightforward healthcare."I always thought that healthsharing might be complicated," said Rebecca. "I mean, it just flows so easily! It has exceeded my expectations," said Jacobs.
From her experience when calling Liberty HealthShare to receiving communication about her sharing program, Jacobs genuinely feels uplifted and cared for.
"It feels like Liberty HealthShare cares about the people they are helping and working with, and you don't get that a lot these days," she said.
Many people believe that the healthcare system needs to change. Our health is one of our greatest gifts from God, so it's natural that people want to be empowered through a compassionate model of care.
"A lot of times you think insurance companies are cold and heartless, and they're just worried about the bottom line - not the person. I don't get that feeling at all from Liberty HealthShare."
