January 19th is the 45th annual March for Life, held in Washington, D.C. The March is held every year on or around the anniversary of the Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion on demand. What started in 1974 as a small, peaceful demonstration meant to mark this somber anniversary has grown to become the largest pro-life event in the world.
On Friday, thousands of pro-lifers from all over the United States will gather on the National Mall for a concert and rally.
They will then march up Constitution Avenue to the Capitol Building and the Supreme Court, carrying signs and banners to show their support for women facing unplanned or unwanted pregnancy and for their unborn babies.
Liberty HealthShare is unapologetically pro-life, recognizing that all human life is deserving of protection from conception to natural death. The Sharing Guidelines that direct the ministry's sharing dollars support this stance by excluding abortion and abortifacients from eligibility for sharing. We also share in eligible maternity events regardless of the circumstances of conception, echoing a core value of the pro-life movement by supporting both member moms and their unborn children through our sharing activities.
Members of the Liberty HealthShare Communications team will attend and take part in this year's March for Life. We will share photos and video from the event via social media. If you haven't already liked our Facebook page or followed us on Twitter, please do so now so you can see our updates. If you are a Liberty HealthShare member and are planning to attend the March for Life, send us a Facebook message. We would love to meet you!
Here at Liberty, we believe all human life is precious. We are proud to join with many other organizations and individuals who feel the same way as we stand for the vulnerable and March for Life.
