Giving is at the heart of Christmas. The Bible even says, "it is better to give than to receive." Giving elevates the spirit and brings significance to both the giver and the recipient. When we give, we change someone else's life. Whether it’s our children, a family member, a friend, or a stranger, giving impacts others with joy, gratitude, and meaning.
Giving is at the core of our healthcare sharing community as well. When we send our share amount to another member with expenses, we are giving of our means to change another person’s life. Throughout the year we have the opportunity to practice the principle of giving. Make sure that giving your monthly share amount doesn’t become routine or represent a mere financial transaction. Remember you are contributing to alleviating another's need. Give each month without thought for what you may receive. And if you become the target of other member’s giving because you have a need, remember that they share your giving attitude!
Have a blessed Christmas, filled with the spirit of generosity and gratitude!
