This month, we are happy to introduce you to Kim. She works in our Provider Relations department as a Surgical and Maternity Facilitator and has served our healthsharing members for more than 4 years.
In her role at Liberty HealthShare, she guides our maternity members and those scheduled for surgery by helping them choose a provider who will offer them fair and reasonable pricing.
Hospital processes and standard billing practices for self-pay patients having surgery or a baby can be stressful and overwhelming, so Kim enjoys being the 'go to' person that helps our members and providers understand our processes.
“It feels great to help guide them through our healthsharing process. The fact that our members call me when they are nervous or confused about the medical system is a wonderful feeling.”
She remembers helping a member who had lost her husband to cancer, and soon after, the member had to have serious surgery herself. Her provider requested a large amount down before surgery. As a self-pay patient, she was unsure how to manage the large down payment. Kim assured her that she would help and together, “we” would get through this.
Kim called the provider and advocated for the member. After the conversation, the provider gave her a more significant discount and a reasonable payment plan. By the end of the call, her stress had turned to laughter. It was a blessing for Kim to be there for her.
Strong in faith, compassionate, and forward-moving are three ways she would describe Liberty HealthShare.
Kim's favorite part about working at Liberty HealthShare is that our ministry is like a family. “We all care about each other and our members. I love working to help people and make a difference for them,” she said.
We are blessed to have Kim as part of our family at Liberty HealthShare, where we encourage one another to be our best for our members. Check back next month to get to know another team member!
