Representatives of Liberty HealthShare recently had the privilege of participating in the Future Conference at Skyline Church in La Mesa, California. The Future Conference is a gathering of pastors, church leaders, and Christians interested in discussing difficult topics. It is a four-day event that covers more than twenty topics.
The Future Conference states its purpose as follows: “Future Conference is an edgy, gutsy, relationship-driven learning event designed to educate, embolden, and activate pastors, Christian leaders, and all followers of Christ to courageously and dangerously live out the Lordship of Jesus with regards to the thorniest and most challenging issues in the current cultural landscape."
The 50-plus speakers addressed topics such as economics, poverty, racism, radical Islam, religious liberty, marriage, abortion, human trafficking, prison reform, and many more.
Liberty HealthShare Executive Director Dale Bellis was a featured speaker on the main stage. Speaking on the topic of moving towards a distinctively biblical foundation for healthcare, Bellis issued a passionate, direct challenge to attendees to know what they are paying for with their health care dollars! He received applause as he encouraged Christians and evangelicals to join hands with Catholics, Mormons, and other members of faith to stop sending money to a healthcare system that uses their money in a way that violates their values.
“Our recommendation to you…. is get out of the system!"
- Dale Bellis
Bellis also led two workshops where he used a recently developed interactive map showing specific mandates for each individual state. He then outlined the benefits of Christian medical cost sharing to prevent personal funding of abortions, abortifacients, and gender reassignments.
The response was overwhelmingly positive as attendees lined up at the Liberty HealthShare booth for more information following the sessions and throughout the conference.
